Lincoln Highway Byway
As the newest addition to the Indiana Byway program, the Lincoln Highway Byway is excited to share with you 10 points of interest along both our routes. We are sure you may even find some additional sites to visit!
Designated as a Scenic Byway in 2011, the Indiana Lincoln Highway Byway is part of the Lincoln Highway, the nation's first transcontinental highway formed in 1913, which runs from Times Square in New York City to Lincoln Park in San Francisco. The original alignment goes through Fort Wayne, Ligonier, Goshen, Elkhart, South Bend, LaPorte, Valparaiso, Merrillville, Schererville, and Dyer. The shortened 1928 alignment goes from Fort Wayne to Valparaiso through Columbia City, Warsaw, and Plymouth.
